Joanne Patricia Hamlet

My name is Joanne Patricia Hamlet but to friends and family I am Pat Hamlet. Mother of three wonderful children and three awesome grandchildren who God lovingly place in my care.

 

Over twelve years ago I relocated to Brooklyn where my home church was St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church and then for a couple of years I attended All Saints Episcopal Church in Park Slope. After moving to Queens, I alternated my church services between St. Augustine and All Saints Church until I saw sign for St. John’s Episcopal Church on a sign post off Springfield Gardens. I looked up the number and called for directions. The rest is history.

 

I adopted this church and brought my family to worship here. One of my first thoughts in coming here was the beautiful lawn and immediately I saw it filled with children and adults laughing and enjoying a summer day shading under tents and umbrellas. Out of this the International Fair was started.

 

Always willing to serve I assisted whenever and where ever help was needed. I was somehow inducted into the Lay Eucharistic Ministry, I served on the Vestry and then quite unannounced I also became a member of the Altar Guild. This last appointment was done by one of our wonderful elders who asked for help in this area and I volunteered to help only when there was a shortage.
